This is a looooong history. A cousin of my mom was coming home for a cople of weeks, and a month later, they dropped their dvd and it broke. So, as my dad is a very skilled and talented man, they decided to ask him to repair it. Well, the damned thing is the most cheap of all the dvd players on the market in chile, but since they are penny-pinchers,… So. The thing is, the front mask broke, and dad spent a whole day fixing it, and the other day, he put a thick rubberband to apply pressure into it, and left it on the fireplace, still warm from the night before so the glue took hold. Winter.
So, in the evening, my sister came home after work, and were alone, and decided to wash the dishes, but the water was so cold, she turned on the fireplace… and we both forgot the PLASTIC frontal mask on top of it…… so when she smelled burnt plastic… came into my room and said “Look,…. eh…” and showed me the diformed mask… and my dad went berzerk when he came home in the night. So i began searching the internet for a dvd just like it, for spare pieces. And lucky me, a girl was selling the same dvd, but it didnt even turn on.,… costing like a couple of drinks. So i went, i bought it, and came home with it. My dad, (did i told you he is the coolest guy ever?) took a look at it… and in 15” the thing was playing movies. Just a burnt component. Thus, the problem with the mask was solved, the cousin of my mom went home happy and now we have a dvd to watch movies in the dining room.
For the price of a couple of drinks.
